Senior U.S. Army Officers Defying Trump's Orders

An American media outlet reported that senior U.S. military officers are considering the issue of disobeying Donald Trump's orders.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Mark Hertling, a retired brigadier general of the U.S. Army who previously commanded U.S. forces in Europe, told MSNBC that active-duty senior military officers are considering the issue of disobeying Donald Trump's orders as commander-in-chief.

This concern stems primarily from Trump's threats to destroy Iran's civilian infrastructure (such as power plants and bridges), which, according to legal experts, could constitute war crimes and violate international law and the Geneva Conventions.

Hertling explained that according to the oath taken by American military personnel, their primary loyalty is to the Constitution of the United States, not to the president personally. They are obligated not to obey illegal orders.
